Climbing forest

The Wald-Michelbach climbing forest is one of the most popular high ropes courses on the Bergstrasse. Climbers' hearts beat faster here. You are always secured. Our climbing equipment is very easy to use. The system is also safe, as only one carabiner can be opened at a time. Which course can I climb?

More than 84 climbing exercises in 10 courses await you. There are different colors that define the individual courses. Depending on the color, you can master different high-rope exercises. Take a look at our climbing plan and get ready for your first climbing course!

How long long do I climb in the climbing forest?

There are 10 different courses to climb in the climbing forest. There is no time limit for climbing. You can therefore take as much time as you need for each climbing element. A climbing ticket is valid for 3 hours. As a rule, good climbers manage to climb all the courses.

What is the best climbing clothing?

In principle, you can wear whatever you like. Please bring sturdy, closed shoes. However, we recommend a sporty outfit so that you can climb well. At high temperatures, you may work up a sweat while climbing.

What do I need to take with me for climbing?

In general, you do not need to bring any climbing equipment. You will receive disinfected climbing equipment from us at the start. This consists of a climbing harness, a double-secured safety system and a climbing helmet. After a short briefing, you can get started.

We recommend a small water bottle on hot days. Climbing is strenuous.

    answer to all important questions

With us, it's first come, first served! Families & friends with 2 to 4 people do not need to register in advance. We recommend that groups of 10 or more register via our group registration form.

There may be waiting times if the number of guests is high. We promise you that we will do our best to ensure that you have a great climbing experience. We do not offer reservations at a specific time.

You can find our admission prices for the climbing forest on our prices page.

You can get tickets directly on site at the climbing forest ticket office and conveniently order them in advance via our webshop .

A climbing ticket is valid for 3 hours after the safety briefing. In our experience, good climbers can complete all courses within this time. If there is a large number of visitors, you may have to wait a short time before you can continue climbing. Once the time has expired, you must return the climbing equipment to us. Save time and fill out the declaration of consent(individual / school class & group) at home.

A visit to the climbing forest is always worthwhile! If you want to avoid a long queue, we recommend a visit in the morning when the weather forecast is good. The early bird climbs longer!

Children can climb with us from the age of 6 if accompanied. Different age regulations apply to the different courses. It's best to check our course description before your visit to find out exactly who is allowed to climb what. Here you will also find the rules on how many adults must climb or supervise.

One adult supervisor may accompany (climb with) a maximum of two children aged 6-7 years. One adult supervisor may accompany (climb with) a maximum of five children aged 8-9 years. For children aged 10-15, one adult may accompany up to 10 children - supervision from the ground is sufficient here, without climbing along. From the age of 16, all courses may be used without a supervisor.

A light rain shower should not stop us. If the rain lasts longer, we will unfortunately have to close the summer toboggan run & the climbing forest. If you are unsure, it is best to check the webcam.

Our season starts at the end of March and we can operate until November if the weather is good. Our traffic light system shows you our current daily opening times.

Everything is much more fun without a backpack! We offer lockers for your rucksack or bag for a fee. These are then stored safely and you can climb without worrying!

Of course you can take a break from climbing. There's nothing wrong with a sip of water and a small snack for refreshment. However, stay on the grounds of the climbing forest for this. Unfortunately, you can't take your climbing harness to the kiosk down to the toboggan run in between. You would have to take the harness off completely and valuable climbing time would be lost. It's best to get a little refreshment beforehand and visit the toilet again - then you can relax and enjoy the climbing fun.

In your own interest, we do not recommend that pregnant women use the climbing forest. We would like to point out that climbing is at your own risk. Pregnant women climb at their own discretion and at their own risk.
